NEW!  Co-Writing with Students in other areas!

If you wish to co-write with a S.A.S.S. student from another area, please
e-mail us
before December 31, 2006,  we will try to twin you with an
interesting writing-partner.  Please provide the following information to
help us try to twin you successfully:

1.  Your name
2.  Your S.A.S.S. teacher's name and school
3.  Your age
4.  The desired age-range of your co-writer (S.A.S.S. students range in age
from 11-22 years, with the vast majority in the 13-17 bracket.)
5.   A brief description of
your musical experience (How long you have been
studying music? Songwriting?  Do you sing?  Do you play an instrument?
If so, for how long? Approx. how many songs have you started?  Completed?)
6.  What
musical styles do you most often write in?
7.  What are your musical influences?  (Favourite musical artists or groups)
8.  What
musical styles are you open to?
9.
What do you hope to do with your songwriting?  (For example:  Casual/ for
personal enjoyment, or as an aspect of your future career?)
10.  Would your family be
interested in hosting another student in your home for a
period of 2-5 days, if you and your pen-pal were selected for a summer
co-writing activity?
11.  Would you
rather find a co-writing partner in a nearby city who you could
drive and visit on your own, or would you
prefer to be considered for an
Ontario-British Columbia co-writing team
?  (Such interprovincial pairings
may be limited, as there are approximately ten times the number of S.A.S.S.
students currently in Ontario than in B.C.)
12.
Please describe yourself, in a paragraph of 50-200 words.  The details you
put into this paragraph will be most helpful to a compatible twinning.
(What are your hobbies, interests or ambitions? Describe your personality.
What qualities do you look for in a friend?  Is there anything else we should
know about you to make a good co-writing match for you?)

NOTE:  Pairs will be notified by the end of December, 2006.  Some pairings may not
be possible.  Most co-writers S.A.S.S. pairs up will probably meet only casually or
via the phone, internet, or other technology.
However, if you decide to visit each
other and continue co-writing in person, or are selected to fly to B.C. for a few
days to write with a Vancouver-area student,
you will also need to tell us about any
food or pet allergies, or even any medical conditions a host family would need to
be aware of.  If such details are important, please include them in your  #11
paragraph.
