Community members who support S.A.S.S. in their own ways, with their time and gifts, are an important reason why S.A.S.S. is growing to serve more young people each day. |
| Thank you, Duff Roman, for your inspiring words. |
The May 8, 2006 Celebration of Young writers saw 35 students take the stage from 17 different S.A.S.S. clubs in Durham. For the parents, the highlight of the evening was watching their talented sons and daughters perform with grace, confidence, presence, and compelling messages. S.A.S.S. is grateful to Dan Brambilla, CEO of the Hummingbird Centre for the Performing Arts, and Don Quarles for their hospitality. |

| Orleans in Ontario for a S.A.S.S. Benefit Concert S.A.S.S. artists were inspired by the best when on January 20, 2007, Orleans, the band who brought the world"Still the One", "Dance With Me", "Love Takes Time", "Dancin' In the Moonlight" and many other international hits took the stage at the Markham Theatre in honour of the S.A.S.S. Program. The audience was amazed at the consummate musicianship of Fly Amero, Charlie Morgan, Lane, Larry, and Lance Hoppen. Bass player, Lance Hoppen, has also offered to guide the development of the first S.A.S.S. chapter in Nashville. The opening act featured S.A.S.S. students and, as lead singer Larry Hoppen, graciously put it, 'the kids were the stars." |
