S.A.S.S. congratulates B.C. on a second, successful season thanks to B.C. S.A.S.S.
President, Don McLeod and David Blair.
Working with two Vancouver-area Boards of Education, Don McLeod and David Blair continue to
build a team of songwriters, sponsors, and teachers dedicated to the vision of enriching young
people's lives through songwriting.
We congratulate the Coquitlam Board of Education for their interest in hosting the pilot S.A.S.S.
Program in B.C., through its arts champion, Annette Coffin, and acknowledge the experience and
organizational support of respected Westminster H.S.music teacher, Kelly Boechler in making the first
year of S.A.S.S. in B.C. outstanding. The support of Music B.C. and Bob D'Eith this year has been
exceptional.

Congratulations to Sonny Parmar who won a ticket to see Nickelback in concert. Jacob N. won
'Suspect' CDs. Rachel / Roh won 'Suspect' t-shirts. These prizes were awarded in New
Westminster H.S. for most involvement in their S.A.S.S. Club.

Special recognition to Kelly Boechler for the
growth of SASS in B.C.

New Westminster Secondary School's innovative music
teacher, Kelly Boechler, was the first music educator to
meet with new B.C. S.A.S.S. Managers, Don McLeod and
David Blair and Artemis, forging the first B.C. alliance with
S.A.S.S. to provide new, creative opportunities for his
students.

Don, Julie, Quinton, and David hosted Artemis' visit in July of 2005 with exceptional hospitality as
the team spoke with professional writers, producers, educators and fund-raisers to plan the
expansion of S.A.S.S. to B.C.
